The voices are torturing me: Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a very dangerous psychiatric illness in which suicide rates may reach as high as 50%. It is a gross impairment in reality testing where the patient drowns in a torturing world of hallucinations and delusions, making him suspicious of everyone around him, thinking he is being watched, caught in a conspiracy where people want to kill him, poison him... He is the only one hearing this voices of these people or seeing them, which further complicates the issue since no one believes him. In front of this dilemma, the patient will do everything in his possible to protect himself, even if it means becoming aggressive or even committing homicide.
